I have a an AV 64 Tele on the way that has a COA and an odd serial number, V19XXXX. I plugged it into the Fender site and it does come up as a an AV64 Tele in white, all correct. Is this just a very early one?

    V19 would mean 2019.

My #1 '64 RI is made up of two '64 RIs. So somewhere out there is it's remaining parts as 1 '64 RI. The guy I sold it to knew it was mismatched, but I dunno what he did with it.

    A pic would be helpful.
What I know is that the first two figures in the VXXXXXX serial number refer to the production year, so for example V14XXXX is a guitar made in 2014.

Some more knowledgeable people will chim ein for sure.

correct, BUT, the serial number is 1 short of the usual format, its V then 6 digits (not 7 as is the norm for this series). The model was discontinued in 2017 so a 2019 serial number for this would not make sense.

Should have it by the end of the week. The Fender site has it as an AV 64 so its correct.

I'm guessing its super early in the run.

Email or call Fender customer service with the serial number and they will give you the build specs for that number. My 2013 AV'64, purchased new did not come with a COA. My 2017 AV 52 did.

Interesting... Pics will most likely solve the question.

I've got '12 LPB. All case candy but don't think there's an actual COA?

Congrats on the 64, welcome to the club!

The AV series has never come with a COA, at least this is my knowledge.
A call to Fender may help you and yes, some pics would help.
    It's interesting..

As I wrote above, My AV '52 did come with a COA. It's a 2017. I'm not sure when they starting putting them in again, though.

I believe Fender restarted the COAs in 2017. Both of my American Pros came with a COA.

interesting, maybe the odd serial number puts it as one of the last made in 2017.

Did you pull the serial number from a photo of the bridge plate or was it supplied by seller? If by seller perhaps a digit was omitted.

    ^^^This.
IIRC Fender started the COA in the 2017 with the new AO series. No COA with the AV series.

That's actually incorrect. The 2017 AV Series came with COAs. I have 3 of them.

Actually all USA Fender series are getting this new-version COA: American Specials, American Professionals, American Elites, American Originals and USA-built Artist models all have them. Since this COA program started in early 2017 the last of the American Vintage series will also have one.
